The History of Central
Ohio’s #1 Roofing Company
In 1981 Steve Weyl went into business with a
chimney sweeps top hat and tails, a pick-up
truck, and a keen sense of what homeowners were
searching for - a great job at a fair price.
Years later, that same philosophy has enabled
Weyl to make ABLE #1 in Central Ohio.
"While we were cleaning chimneys, customers
began asking us to check for roof leaks," Weyl
says. "And so we did. Our success rate was
better than a lot of roofing companies and
people started requesting the 'chimney sweep'
for their next roofing project.
By 1985 the company's emphasis shifted to
roofing. By 1991, ABLE ROOFING was well on it's
way to becoming Central Ohio's #1 Roofing
Company!
With Crane Plastic’s involvement in 1997 as
an investor, and the additions of Mike O'Connell
and Paul Demboski, Financial, Bert Seymour,
Human Resources, Ross Appeldorn, Corporate
Sales, and Dan Moore, Production Operations,
ABLE'S senior management team became complete.
Quickly thereafter, the company was able to
lower prices and even offers more than roofing
services to their customers.

Roofing was recently honored among Columbus'
"Fast Fifty" recognizing the area's most dynamic
companies for their contributions to the growth
of the community. The "Fast Fifty" represents
the economic backbone of Greater Columbus and
pays tribute to their success.
